We haven't heard from the California duck hunters whose season opened Saturday? Someone must have killed the shit out of the birds. My friends in Butte, Co. don't have water yet and haven't seen many birds.

I would have thought the California cops would have been all over the ducks and at least one of them would have posted a report. One of my friends who hunts near the Butte Sink reported good hunting without a single mallard.

You like them specks boot? We had 3 cruise by low this morning, busted 2 and hit the 3rd but sailed it and lost it in the tules.

The funny thing was I got in the blind with one of the property owners this morning and said "we need to kill some geese this morning". Then said my favorite is when a low single cruises by without ever knowing hunters are there, then that's what the 3 did.

One of my few pics from this weekend, Boot's dog- "Sprig the Wonder Dog". It was pretty slow down at the club, but we had a fun time. Sprig spoiled us this weekend, we don't hunt with a dog.
