What else to add???

Have about 3 Dozen Floaters. It consists of 2 dozen mallards, 1/2 a doz. of Gadwalls an 1/2 of Green Wing Teals. I am considering adding a dozen pintails, but I also can't decide I I should get a doz. coots. Or maybe get those 2 species by a dozen, then find some Goldeneye dekes? Shoot quite a bit of them whistlers on the Missouri River here. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!
Best Regards,
Rex Chapman

Coots are the best decoys.

Or, quite likely, any place else they're thick and gun pressure is heavy.

Yesterday I went out and bought a dozen GHG Life Size Pintails for $75. I think 4 dozen dekes is enough for 1 man to be carrying 2 miles. But I will probably be using my game cart to lug them around.

They say golden eyes will only decoy to golden eye deeks. Something to think about if you see a lot of them.

I mainly jump them off one of the main channels in the Missouri River.

Only golden eye I have ever shot was balls deep in my mallard spread, right on top of my mojo.

If they are anything like all other divers they ought to come in to anything, but I've never had the chance to hunt golden eyes so I'm not the best source of info.

Been a long time since I hunted goldeneye country, and I didn't target them. But I know there then was a strong tradition among those who did of using relatively small spreads of all goldeneye decoys.

Don't buy GHG anything, unless you want to repaint them next year.

I sold all of my ghg honker fb's because the paint was flying off of them. I was really careful and bagged them all the time. Sold them and got big foot b2s.

How are the B2s? I heard that they are nowhere near the quality of the originals.

Only 1 season on them but so far so good. They just feel durable compared to the ghg's. I like the "lesser" size too.

My teal and gadwall GHG dekes have had minimal chipping paint for the last 4 years I've had them. Man was I rough with them to.

Go buy some GHG full body honkers, hunt them gently for one season and give us a review.

I babied mine too. After 1 season the black on tails started coming off and I figured that was from being in the bags and getting set down. Then at season 3 the khaki on the chest and sides was falling off in big flakes. The plastic underneath was shiny like it was never prepped right for paint. I sold em quick before it got worse.
