I am going scouting Monday for some new spots. Mostly for early teal. I know I want to look for shallow water but what is a big key that y'all look for.

Honestly, I've never scouted for ducks much more than 2 days before I hunt. I'll go out and scout spots to put a blind or something along those lines, but ducks are too notional. They come and go on a whim.

I look for other hunters with fancy boats and lots of decoys. I figure they k ow what they are doing. I set up just upwind of them. Usually it works out ok.
Other times I just look at pictures on the Internet and try to figure out where those people were hunting

I befriend unsuspecting hunters on the Internet and then meet them for lunch during the off season and try and snipe info on the sly.

yeah, after we left I wondered if you had fed me as much false information as I had fed you?
Nice meeting up with you today Dan, next time I find myself heading south I'll let you know, looking forward to meeting your midget

Ha ha...touché.
We'll have to get a hunt planned or at the very least, a combined pile of death for a photo.

Don't just look for ducks, keep an eye out for evidence of other hunters. Most people are slobs so look for trash and empty hulls.

I believe this guy has scouted before. What do you think you should look for?
Trash like red bull cans and goodie wrappers. Look for lots of empty dip cans and shotgun shells out the azz.
Find a hole that has 1000's of empty shell casings floating around in it...probably is a good one.
