I have an idea, while the current admin and their cronies are breaking their promises. Why don't we tell the Indians to piss up a rope and suck the knot out. We can probably pay off the national debt with all the casino proceeds.
Oh, and, let's not forget the money we can abscond from the Congress' retirement and benefits.
Broken promises to prior service is not the way our country should ever consider to pay the bills.
Sorry, not trying to get this moved to the CI forum but, maybe more guys will notice it. We need to post the email addresses for every Congressman and, create a form letter so everyone lets their rep know what our feelings are.
My fear is this gets on the list of items that are bipartisan battle issues and it will not pass under the current obamanation.

Google your senator's email address, cut and paste and send this.

Senator [your senator],

I'm writing to ask you to reject a provision within the Bipartisan Budget Act that threatens to significantly slash retirement benefits for current and future military retirees.

The FY 2014 budget proposal includes a provision that cuts the annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for uniformed service retirees by 1 percent each year until age 62.

The cuts will have a devastating and long-lasting impact. By age 62 retirees who serve a 20 year career would lose nearly 20 percent of their retired pay.

I'm asking you to reject this provision that breaks faith with current and future military retirees, and threatens long term readiness and retention in the uniformed services.

Senator, it is very easy to make promises to our men and women in uniform before and while they are at war. Please do not break the promises to my fellow service members who put their lives on the line every day at home and abroad to defend our freedoms. I understand the fiscal constraints our country is facing in these tough times but I implore you to find other ways to save money and reduce the deficit rather than taking it from the men and women who have sacrificed so much for their country. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
[your name]

I suspect torches and pitchforks would have a far better impact.

Well the government is on its way to cut pensions for Vets. Shameful. Lots of cuts do need to be made buy the Vets should be a lot higher than the crap they are still funding now. Absolutely shameful.

We just sent how many hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars to the Muslim brotherhood? And they cut military pensions to save SIX billion? Please.

The huge travesty is that an amendment was attempted which would have restored full military pensions, and made up the dollars by cutting the earned income tax credit for ILLEGAL ALIENS. But the Dems voted it down. They chose illegal aliens over retired military, and that just throws me into a rage. It's unconscionable.

I think they even cut it for the amputees who can't work. Unfuckingbelievable.

They sure did. Medically retired due to injuries also get the axe.
