Shad Attack

Noticed some other guys that fish for shad on here so let's see some pics. They are starting to hit good here and I hope to get after them soon.

Good stuff! When is the peak of the run there?

Do it. Their a blast to catch. Good fighting fish and when they are running good you can get into them like blues, almost every cast.

X2
It's tons of fun. I could tell you how many times we get double and triple hook ups. Normally catch 20 to 30 in a few hours but some times guys can catch 100 in a day.
QH's Paw wrote:We use them for crab bait and sturgeon bait here. We get over a million in the Columbia river. I mean that's how many return each year. There were almost 2.5 million last year. They are the biggest fish in the herring family. They have more bones than most people can stand. The people that I've met who cook them pressure cook or can them to get rid of the bones. They stink about as bad as any fish I ever caught. But, when they're in, you can have a day of fun until your arm get tired.

Don't sweat it bud, that looks like a lot of gear to keep straight.
