What a ling !!!

I fish burbot a lot. It's always a brutal game, At night, New moon, in the winter , windy cold, nasty, but I love it. I guess even a blind squirrel finds nuts. I caught my biggest ling ever today at 11:00 in full sun light, on a jug with a garlic minnow. NOTHEN what I would do for a ling fishing trip. We put it back and plan a proper ling trip very soon . It was over three feet long and was HEAVEY!!! Maybe in this spot there all pigs, I will let you know soon...

Definitely not the kind of ling I'm used to but nice fish either way.

Had to google Burbot to find out what they were, looks a lot like what we called Ling Cod in the Pacific Ocean. Saltwater Ling Cod are great eating.
Your fish looks great, must be over three feet long.

My dad cought one on Lake of the Woods this winter that was 10.5 pounds. All the Minnesotans I was with said its the biggest one they've personally seen.
Couldn't believe I actually put hands on it when it came up the hole. Not something I wanted to do.
