Can't imagine duck season be without preseason suspense and last minute scrambling.

If you're talking about the Pine Island above Roanoke, Ed saw quite a few birds up that way while bailing a blind we've rented for teal.

As far as I know it’s probably a gar hole, but for some reason I feel better about having a levee to sit my bucket on next weekend. Had a friend of ours go check out the pond for us since he was already out that way brushing blinds.
The field has water on it and a hole buffaloed so at least we don’t have to worry about that. Said he jumped 5-6 teal up and had a decent group of 20-30 buzz by while he was out there in the middle of the day. The pond is in the Pine Island area, back where we all got out first “rice field” blind many years ago. I’m sure it’s not much but if I can get a decent shoot out of it and maybe get the dog some work in I’ll be happy.

Sounds promising to me for sure! Good luck THIS weekend

I predict you will do well on teal at this place. Heard tell of good numbers of teal in and around that general area.

Hope it turns out to be the magic flute.
(Appears tuning a higher pitched reed for my old over-bored MVP will probably be about as close as I come to my old call-ho ways this year. And I haven't done that, yet.)
