Nice hunt. What part of the state? Surprised no other reports on here but yours and mine on an opener.

Rick usually reports daily but the other guys tend to report at the end of their weekend.

I've read a few reports of the same thing happening to others. Good first day!

Date: 9-28-19

Time: packed up at 8:30

Location: public

Cloud Cover: clear to clouds

Wind Direction and Velocity: on and off to decent easterly

Temperature: felt cooler picking up than putting out

Barometer:

Moon phase: didn’t see it

Special Notes: my wife’s first September teal hunt

Waterfowl Activity: every group we saw worked either us or the others

Waterfowl Responsiveness: lost first 3 or 4 groups to other party hunting NE of us not far enough

Hunters: Corey, billy (his father in law, jared, Tricia and me

Guns:

Malfunctions: None

Dog(s): Boone

Special Equipment: 4 spinners

Kudos: we killed 8 or 9 out of each group and found a cripple or 2 the others didn’t go after

Made a shrimp run to grand chenier and picked up 50 lbs from a new friend.

curses: would have had our 30 if other guys would have been further away or not been there, but it’s public and we shot way better than they did

Birds By Species: 19 blue winged teal

Heck of a good one to introduce her to how teal hunting can be. That's what'll get her (and all of us) to go again next year
