The knife I just purchased is slightly larger and thicker than the Companion knife Olly posted. The MG stands for military grade as it is the Mora version of a military knife. The handle is a bit heftier than the companion and that apealed to me. The C stands for Carbon.

As far as I can tell this is a very good knife for the money. I spent $18 for the upgrades on this knife.

I should add it is very sharp and the sheath is really nice.

I love this knife already and plan on using it to clean all of my game this season.

Hey, does this sheath make my butt look big?

That sounds like where I got mine from. Gave one of mine to the wife, so it'll take a little longer for her to take mine and lose it- she'll have to lose her own first.

I gave one to my cousin for his birthday.
He was impressed with it.

What I have seen out of Gerber is they make a great knife.

I am pretty happy with this one. So far all it has done is open plastic packages, but that will change this weekend if I crack out the smoker.

One of my all time favorite folding knifes is a Kershaw Vaporlock, which they dont make any more.

Sweet Chereau might use it on me. That's "Every Day Carry" for any who might really be wondering. Mine's an original NRG model that takes and holds an edge as well as any stainless knife I've had, readily opens one handed and is easy to hang onto inside a deer. It's thin and I did break the tip off it clearing decoy line from between my Go-Devil's prop and drive shaft housing seal, but it still readily pierces deer hide.

As for fixed blade knife work, I'm still doing most butchering chores with old carbon steel Case knives, but was given a stainless Victorinox boning knife with a better grip that's showing great promise in the taking and keeping an edge department. Supposedly a great favorite of commercial processors, but don't know about that.

Not being inclined to make a fine art of knife sharpening with a $400 tool set and then go cut zip ties with the knife, I use what a lot of professional knife wielders do when they need to take metal off a blade: a $10 Accu Sharp. And being to lazy to learn to keep a proper angle with a traditional steel, I use $6 Rada Sharpening tool's steel wheels for dressing an edge without removing much metal.

I think you'll be hard pressed find a handier way to keep working blades keen.
