I quickly realised today that the pole that comes with the mojo decoys is too short for the area I was hunting. I had to put it real close to shore to get it into shallow enough water.
Once I got home I dug around my scrap pile and had a 3.5' length of .5" square tube. I crushed one end and drilled a drainage hole in it. Then on the other end I drilled a hole the same size and in the same location as the hole in the original pole it came with. A little flat green paint and done. I just took the spring clip out of the original pole and put it in the pole I made and it now functions exactly the same as the original pole but this one is 2.5' longer.

until your hunting in a spot where you cant get the pole in an extra 2.5 ft

Nice work, gotta love being resourceful! Scrap piles are handy.

I have made a few this way. Another thing I did to them was weld a piece coming off the side that way to can step on it to help with getting into harder ground. Sometimes the ground is just hard enough you can't just push it down. This may not be something you need where you are at, just another idea.

Ahhh, mine has that on the middle section, I wondered what it was for.
Brew, would it be a problem if the decoy was high above the water? If so I'll just bring both poles. I'm trying to get another spring clip so I won't have to swap the one I have back and forth.

Make a floating stand out of pvc. That's my next project...

Gather yours is the Baby Mojo. The regular Mojo's top pipe slips right over the top of 1/2" metal conduit, and the Teal Mojo's bottom spike slips right into the top of 1/2" metal conduit, so conduit is those whirligigs' friend.

I have never seen an issue with them being high above the water. We have a couple spots where the mojos seem to work very good. We will have 3 of them out on 4,6, and 8 ft tall poles when we are in 2-3ft of water.

no, a real stainless hose clamp. That way we can always grab a stick somewhere the right height.

I do this as well. Use the regular pole that comes with it, plus a five footer, an eight, and ten.

that's a cool concept but for $70 that thing better blow me on the way into the swamp.

I just use pvc pipe, 3/4 I believe u might have to grind the wall out a little and I wrap the rest thats out the water with elec tape
