We are about 5 miles north of Holly Beach, and after the cold weather last week our ducks left our area. Will find out Friday if they have come back

Friday
11/22/19

About the same flight maybe slightly more teal seen. Should have finished with 3 or 4 more. We only knocked down 1 out of a dozen teal hovering over the decoys and 2 out of a pile of greys that were touching the water in front of the blind when I called the shot. Specks worked great, calling back till we shot, but should have had both instead of just one. Had a hard time finishing most of what we saw. Too little wind and overcast.

3 guns

1 greenhead
1 jack
1 spoon
2 teal
3 greys
1 speck
_________
8 ducks/ 1 speck

Not a bad take and a good sign that things are picking up.

Sat. 11/23/19

Alot of high ducks bouncing back from the south. Maybe made it to the Gulf and turned back? No better local flight. Disappointing.

SUN 11/24/19

Probably the best flight of at least little ducks since the Sat opener 2 weeks ago. My guys had a hard time capitalizing and apologized repeatedly for it. Cant eat apologies though.

Monday and Tuesday was little to write about recovering 7 and 8. Today the flight reminded me of years past. Even though we waited the storm until it passed the camp, we still made it to the blind before 7 am. Was nearly a constant flight until we put the last one on the strap.

Yes very but all in all we shoot most of what we have daily because some days we are the X. I typically follow the advice of the best duck hunter I've ever known when it comes to calling ducks, "less is more".

Was very optimistic this am after the flight yesterday. Still had a few moving but nothing like the # we saw yesterday. Called it at 9 am with nothing else moving.
