That's a really good idea nuff. I really may go this route.

I know of a few boats that do that abound here. Cedar for open water and grass matts when they pull into cattails.

I'm sure you'll hear it from Assa for this one though. :-)

Yup and anyone else

Is there something wrong with it?
It's like having two boats.

Theory of Medium is so strong in this.

Why not just use a diver rig in the timber incase a BB comes in?

I don't know that it really is. But the Theory Of Medium says that the first time you use it, something like this will happen:

"Holy crap, look at all the ducks that are hanging out in the big water today. Let's move out there"

"The camo on this side is going to stick out like a sore thumb"

"It'll be fine, they're ducks, they don't really care"

(moves locations, now camo on one side is glaring inappropriate)

"I know the ducks don't care, but I feel like we're really sticking out out here"

(Constantly leans over boat to fidget with camo, and flares off at least 7 flocks of ducks at separate times while fidgeting. Doesn't have a great time because of constant worry over the look of half the boat camo)

"Well, we almost got our limit. Let's pack it up"

"Next time we should stay in the shoreline/timber/marsh/_________________"

Granted, this may never happen. But 50/50™ the Theory Of Medium™ will bite you in the ass the first time you try and flout it.

Exactly Jim. I'd just paint it dull grays/blues/greens for open water when you don't need any blind and just brush it up for whatever you are hunting if its for puddlers

What u do is buy different canvas tarps and paint one to look like water and get some camo netting. Keep both in the boat and change out when necessary

Burlap works well no shine on it .
as for Seats I would go with buckets with swivel tops on them not bad to sit on . You have good range of movements .plus you have extra dry storage .for your shells and what nots .

Is that really cheaper then just getting marine grade? Or does it last longer?

It's all wpb nowadays.
Any plywood that doesn't have a coat of resin on it isn't going to last very long on a boat anyways.

No that's how they test the glue in the laminate to make sure it isn't water soluble

That is cool as hell to see sitting on the water. Can't really tell but looks like it doesn't draft anything at all.

Duckmaster boat rebuild.

Postby FlintRiverFowler » Sun Aug 24, 2014 5:16 pm

I'm gona be honest guys, I only saw the engine run in videos before I bought it bc I had to
Meet the guy halfway. I really wasn't concerned with it running good or not, this being the 4TH yes fourth! Outboard I've owned this year. I've gotten pretty good at getting them to run and then swapping/ selling them... That however does not matter.
It's an early to mid 80s evinrude 25, but it is by far the best running and fastest out of all the engines I've owned. Started right up. Idles perfect. Runs like a top. Pushed me along at 21ish maybe faster BUT the prop is really bent up. Looks like it hit a lot of stumps out in the Arkansas timber.

The other thing... Idk how the guys who run a really tall hard blind don't get turned over.  :lo

Looks like you could get by putting a lid on the thing and just barrel rolling out.
