If that's aluminum it probably will. Pick up a new aluminum prop if you're mostly running open water for $80.

Get a new one and keep that as a back up. If you don't keep and extra prop with you you'll kick yourself in the ass when you run across a gravel bar and take your prop the the hub at O-dark 30.

I bet he's so glad that I basically annoyed him until he bought the damn boat. It was like pulling teeth to get him to go get it. Damn cheap-o. Now you have the 2nd coolest duck boat of anyone you know!

Test fitting was a success. Now time to take it back out and glass the back side in.

The real bitch is working around the seat. I'd have to take the blind off to get it out and there's 300 screws holding the blind on so it's not really an option unless it comes down to me absolutely having no choice.

Man, that seems like a lot of work/trouble to glass the back side of the plywood. It's probably the best way no doubt, but I'd probably just seal it and call it good.

I did the floor in my boat with marine grade...12-13? years ago and the only sealer it's ever had was duck boat paint. And, it's out in the elements year round...still solid.

Just gonna do one layer on the back side to keep it water tight really won't be hard. I cut the corner and used non marine grade plywood to save money, bc I would've sealed marine grade the same way. Plus this is only 1/4" thick to save weight so it needs to be stiffened up a little anyways.
I also got a little experience with fiberglass last weekend replacing rotten transom wood in a gheenoe my brother just bought. At least I have somewhat an idea of how it acts.

Just make sure it's 100% water tight. If you have one screw that goes through the glass without being sealed over it will get water in it and behind the fiberglass where it won't dry and will rot really fast.

Trying to decide if I want to add a pedestal base up front for a seat and one toward the back for a grab bar but I think I'm gona leave it alone bc I don't want to worry abt water tightness. Otherwise there won't be any screws bc there's nothing to screw in to. The stringers are glass.

That was about clear as mud. Just the simple seat bases that sit on the floor. Especially in that blind I wouldn't want to be limited to sit in one spot. One of the mud boat companies make some.

Go look at them on the cabelas website. Basically turns your boat seat into a 4 legged chair.

I would install a few recessed seat bases so you can move the seats around. But that is more work and money.

My fear with the recessed bases is that they'll eventually leak. That's what caused the floor to rot out last time.
Looks like this boat is gona be open floor with seating of the milk crate variety

Yeah they just take up too much room, and I have a seat in the back to sit on. Not spending the $$ for a seat I'll likely not ever use.

Milk crates work good.
I have a boat seat bolted to the top of a crate for me to sit on. Then I supply milk crates with a boat cushion for the rest of the hunters unless they bring their own chair.

That's uptown. When I've a big enough crew of teal hunters to resort to crates, they're going home with waffle-ass.

(I sit on my shell box, regardless, as I'm too lazy to pack something extra to sit on.)

3 guys fit fine, but with 4 I have to pack stuff ontop of a guy sitting on the floor up front.

No. Just a regular old coat. We rarely leave 3 foot of water, so don't worry much about drowning.

Rarely ever is not never! My suggestion to everyone is, DO NOT wear a coat that can absorb water on a boat. It will drag you under, trust me. It bothers me whenever I see anyone wearing the wrong stuff on a boat. We all spend so much on hunting gear and other fun things and so many people neglect to spend just a little more on safety equipment. You can get the right gear for just a few more bucks...
