its not the perfect duck boat but we fish the whole rest of the year the lakes aren't froze, it serves us well. I built the transom up an an inch and a half over stock and put the pods on to get me I to skinnier water

Did you buy the pods or have them built or build them yourself
i wasn't sure about them so I built a set out of wood first to see what they were all about, those lasted a few years and then I had some made, I'll never have a boat without pods again

What do the pods do?
water weighs 63ish pounds per cubic foot, so by adding those two pods to the back I added another 200+ pounds of flotation to the aft of the transom. This means that I can safely have 200 more pounds in the back of the boat without fear of swamping. It also gets me a but lower draft while static and prevents the bow from rising when during the hole shot, especially when taking off into the wind. Decreases waves coming over the transom when backing up into long lines too. The only real downside is the decrease in op need performance, I'm thinking I lost about 4mph[/quote]
I did before and after measurements when I did mine, I gained 1.5" of transom above water line. Gained a couple miles per hour and 150 rpm while on plane. It also makes for a good step for the dog and fat guys too. Only negative I found was a little restriction on tight turns.
Totally worth it.

Been thinking about making a set pods. May just have to do it here soon.

I squeezed the maximum floor space out of this little boat. 81"x52" between the front deck and the bench. 29 sq. ft. of floor space in a 14' boat.

Alright so how should I place the deck down. Should I use one solid sheet of Aluminum and coat the deck or is the a better way to allow proper flex. The deck space is 4' x 92". Full sheet of aluminum .080 cost $90.
