I started getting stuff together for my hybrid build today. I will have plenty I questions. Any words of advice before I get started?

If Jim were here he'd say "build a small scale model out of manila folder first, it acts very similar to the luan plywood".

I'm getting ready to start a 12 footer in a month and a half, or so, when it starts to warm up a little.

My 15 horse mercury outboard is for sale. $400 but needs upper motor mounts.
FYI you can fix them with 5200 but it doesn't hold up to smashing into a submersed log with the foot of the motor at 25 mph.

Is it even remotely fixable, or is a guy looking at another $1000 to get a $400 motor working?

Looking at 160 bucks to get a $400 motor working. Which is worth more than $400 when fixed.

But Im probably trading my 1640 for a 1870 this week so in gonna need to go up on motor size.

Runs an outboard junk yard if you will. Pm me the what exactly it is (motor and part) and I can email her to ask if she had it and/or how much it'll cost.

Ok thanks Goldie. Got a potential buyer comin to buy it as is in a couple hours. If he don't take it ill take you up on it.

If think if nothing else, it'll give you more confidence, which is always a good thing.
