That thing looks sweet! A 400# capacity is surprising. Seems like it would be twice that.

Since it has a 7 hp rating, per Coast Guard regs, we need to take the amount of weight it takes to make the boat sink (Over 2200 lbs) and divide by 5 for our max weight cap. If we rated it for 2 hp, we could shave divided that number by 3 and had over a 700 lb rating.

Rules are rules.

500 lb weight test made the boat draft 4.5"

That is very interesting... So, If my boat is rated for 205hp and they report 2200# capacity, how much can it really handle?
Where can I find those rules?

I really like the looks and specs on this boat. The 7 hp rating is impressive! I almost wish I hadn't just finished building a boat:lol: I will be looking at this in the future.

Did some comparisons on the SOBADS to the Migrator.

SOBADS draft empty 1/2", 480 lb payload 3-1/2"

Migrator draft empty 2-1/2", 480 lb payload 5-3/4+"

It is all chopped and hand laid fiberglass laminate with marine grade plywood transom epoxied in and then glassed solid.
