You guys crack me up. Taking it to a tk-conduit-bending level of rocket science.
Put food out, hope deer eats food, catch deer on camera, shoot deer.

If it don't happen - I don't care.

Why camo the feeder? You do want the deer to find it, right?

Why do you need their picture to shoot them?

banning baiting doesn't do shit. It's been illegal where I hunt for as long as Ive been hunting, and literally tons of beats and corn are sold at every corner store in the area from sept-dec. just because it's illegal doesn't mean people will stop.

I know not everyone would stop baiting, but a bunch of them would. They don't know how to kill a deer without baiting and wouldn't bait for fear of getting caught.

1 outa 10 might quit and the rest just get sneakier. I don't like hunting over bait personally...takes the challenge out of it. With a little knowledge of deer patterns I feel you can be just as productive if not more hunting deer runs and natural feeding/bedding areas.

Except the only thing on your camera will be coons, squirrels and other rodents.

I'd like to know what time they are passing through so I don't have to waste a bunch of time not duck hunting

You are one lazy ass deer hunter. Sitting for 6 hours with the possibility of seeing nothing is half the fun.

Gotcha. Never used a camera either. A couple guys at our property use them, but I feel like they spook deer. That always get bucks on them the first time they check, then not much after that.

I think I have gone through a handful of all day sits. 6 hours is about the average.

Deer hunting is a way to pass time before duck season starts.

Deer season is from oct 1-jan1
Duck season is from late sept-dec
Kinda sucks they both overlap so closely.

Unfortunately the county I hunt in is a bow only county. If it wasn't I would have killed one of the biggest bucks I have ever seen while hunting. I was picking up a duck when he busted through the timber and stopped less than 15 yards away from me. I would have tenderized his ass with #3's if shotguns were legal.

That's one of the big reasons I got into archery, doesn't overlap with duck.

Yep! I don't know what you east of the Rocky's people are worried about anyway. White tail are predictable and simple minded at best. Black tail are elusive and unpredictable as Michigan.

I don't remember if last year or the year before was when they started issuing tags with your license. Before that you got your tags out of the regs book that anyway could get as many as they wanted of.

Do y'all have the stupid 13" rule? All the fuckin basket bucks up here don't leave much for us to shoot. I have only seen one buck that would be legal since they initiated that restriction.

Nope. Only hunting leases that make up a rule like that for themselves. The lease I'm on is 4 or more points on one side, but we came up with that on our own. However we still kill older or naturally smaller bucks.

1 antlered tag, up to 6 antlerless. I can't deer hunt if there are birds to chase.

Gotcha, There are bucks up here that are 10-12 pointers with 12" spreads. The idea is that everything under 13" is a young buck but that's not how it works. Some of the bucks are gray as can be but have small spreads. Not a lot of good food for them.
