Sunday is a great day for hunting. I've killed quite a few critters on Sundays. I have a theory for why Sunday is generally better than Saturday for those of you stuck hunting on the weekends. All the churchgoers get out and hit it hard Saturday, but come Sunday morning, they're all in church and not in the woods.

Very nice, still jealous. Chasing goats is a blast, spot and stalk is the only way I can hunt big game.

Hung stands and cameras this weekend. Woods looked way to green for the deer to be active. It'll be three weeks before its worth spending any time on stand.

Well I had a badass story typed up but somehow it got deleted. Short story is that rifle elk opened this past weekend and our group filled 4 out of 5 cow tags. I was the jackass that didn't fill their tag because I decided to leave my rifle at camp Sunday while we went to pack out the first elk. I left my rifle because I didn't want the extra weight and the weather was supposed to get bad and I planned on packing the elk and leaving before I got stuck since I needed to be at work Monday. The other 3 guys ended up shooting elk on our way in and we packed out all 3 Sunday. The weather didn't get bad until Sunday night.

Moral of the story is always take your gun when packing out an elk.

And when going to retrieve a duck, take a pocket full of shells too.

Found this spot and got a stand in it,hunted it twice and nothin yet but hopefully this weekend with the cooler temps somethin will move
