Going to Idaho this October to hunt the masestic mule deer. Will keep y'all updated as the hunt gets closer, and post the story once the hunt is over.

Sounds like it could be a great time. Take some pictures when you go. Are you hunting up in b-zone this year too?

Nah, tight budget since my mom is flying to Nebraska, and I'm getting a shotgun. But I have some good looking spots in A-zone, and next year I'm going to Wyoming to hunt antelope.

No dice. Saw a real heavy deep forked 26" 4x4 that probably scored around 170-175. My dad shot it, but grazed his back and paralyzed him temporarily, thought he killed him. As he was hiking up he had to go behind a group of rocks where he couldn't see the deer from. He got on the other side of the rocks and saw the buck dissapear into the trees, but didn't think it was the same buck as it was going up a damn near vertical slope. We got to where the deer was laying after it was sht, no deer and a pool of blood about the size of a baseball. Then there were the specks the size of a pencil eraser about 30 feet from eachother. After that we followed the hoof tracks to the top of the ridge where they dissapeared. We seached all over the mountain the rest of the day for the buck, never seen him again. The next day we saw a heavy 32"-er but he had crabby forks. I missed him. Never saw anything else worthy the rst of the trip, only about 15 forkin horns, 2 3x2s and a few 3x3s.

I don't know if there were any critters there, but it sure is pretty looking country. Right up until someone saw the need to plant picnic tables in the middle of a mountain meadow. WTH.

That was a fairly small campground, and the only one for many many miles, so it wasn't that ruined. And the meadow in the 4th pic is about 5 miles from the campground.

That's what cheeses me off the most. If you (not you DnB, other folks) want all crap, then you should be fine camping near the beaten path. If you want to be miles and miles from anything, pack a tent and sit on the damn ground.
