I've read where they (feds) are seeing the bag numbers of BW during the main season rising. Not sure how this will affect the future of teal season.

Certainly something to consider...but I'd rather not before they make me.

We did not have a bounty of blue wing this year. Teal season we killed 121 on 51 man days = 2.3 per man per hunt
Regular duck season we only killed 31 blue wing teal

3 of us went to the marsh this past weekend - we fertilized around the blinds, inspected the blinds to see what repairs they will need this summer, and looked for a new spot to move a blind.
The vegetation in the marsh looks mostly good, better than last year, but a year or two away from full recovery after Hurricane Laura.
We saw some Mottles and about 50 teal still hanging around.
The water in the marsh was a little higher than I would like it to be this time of year, wigeon grass likes shallow water.

3 weeks ago 1/2 of the club members went to the marsh to put seawall material around more of our blinds, then they pumped mud to fill the eroded areas the hurricanes have made.
This past weekend the other half of the members went to the marsh to plant grass in the areas the mud was pumped.
The water in the marsh is low, but we could still get around OK. The marsh is looking great, with new vegetation growing on the mud flats the low water is exposing.
With the low water we are finding submerged hurricane debris we did not know was there before.
Only saw 4 mottled ducks, but there were plenty pelicans, ibis, seagulls, etc.

Darrin - I saw that weather forecast also. Last weekend the great weather forecasters said the low pressure system was going into lower Texas - WOULD NOT IMPACT LOUISIANA - I wish I could be wrong that often and still keep a job.
I really, really did not want that much rain.

Big downpour this morning. Lasted five or six minutes.
