When: Friday morning, 9-16-22
What: teal hunting.
Who: just me.
Weather: 65 degrees with clear skies and a 1 mph west wind.
Where: Amite River swamp, LA
Weapons: 12 gauge Browning Silver, skeet choke and #4 steel.
What happened: no shots fired and no teal spotted. Only two wood ducks buzzed the decoy spread this morning and saw hundreds of egrets and a pair of pileated woodpeckers. I believe it’s safe to report that there’re zero teal around the Livingston and Ascension Parish border, and the lack of local woodies have me concerned. I’m hoping for some migrants in November and these mosquitoes can go straight to hell. Better luck to all y’all out there.
