This is not one of our hunting ponds, but it usually has water - took the pic to show how low our water is in the marsh as of June 25, 2022

Wow! And even with that big rain that came through last week, still mud flats .

Well, likely still mudflats, didnt seem like anywhere got enough to really dent the deficit.

Tomorrow will be 8 weeks until teal season - that is 56 days
We will make one more trip to the marsh on July 30 - after that just sit and wait.

Leaving for the camp. We need to replace a walkway to one of our blinds, and plant more grass at 3 blinds.
A fun time will be had by all. Should not see any reindeer until Christmas time.

Went to the camp this weekend, but I did not go in the marsh. I pulled by back Friday while loading some of the tools. The older, greyer, wiser John stayed at the camp and worked on decoys - the younger John would have gone anyway and been laid up for a week.
Reports are the water is still low in the marsh and grass is growing, they did not see any ducks.

We have not been in the marsh since the end of July. A club member lives in Sulphur and said they have been having lots and lots of rain, so I guess the water in the marsh will be up as usual for Teal season. Barring any storm I will be there. This past weekend I spent gathering hunting stuff. My shell box is ready including treats for Abby. It's amazing the amount of stuff needed to duck hunt. I will admit I carry more stuff than most people.

Being in a position to hand a lot of peoples' stuff in and out of the boat, I'd think that no small trick.

I got a report last night from the commercial fisherman that fishes our marsh - he said we were loaded with teal - then I woke up
I have not heard any reports of teal in my area, from the sounds of others here I am not expecting much.
Buddy and I are leaving for the camp this afternoon - tomorrow we will pump out blinds and get our decoys ready.
Good luck to all

Buddy and I went out Friday and pumped out all the blinds. We did not see a single teal. We were out there from 7:30 to noon, plenty of time to see something.
