Whoa, big front! That’s right on time for a big Halloween mallard push for us.

PC, you might contact the court and ask them to postpone your jury duty until a later date. I had to do it here a few years ago, and it easier than expected.

Might could be a more limited jury pool up there in Paradise, ND...

Latest run, pretty good snow event up your way next Thurs-Fri

And though less likely, but nonetheless part of same run and same weather system....ice storm down into OK & MO! Just a tad ambitious for late October but nice to see some weather events showing up

Unfortunately I don’t get a lot of time off for work and have someone scheduled to fill in for me.

As of this morning they’ve taken out all the snow for us but the highs on Friday and Saturday show 30° and overnight lows show 18°. That will freeze a lot of the little potholes in the birds to the big water. I’m sure it will send some of the wimpy ducks down south. Saw several flocks of white birds high and heading south last evening while hunting.

Not sure why all the kids are blurry but… For the most part the ducks and geese did not want us. It was kind of crazy. But the ones that did want us paid for it

Looks like a fine hunt to me, and can only imagine how many birds you saw :o
Glad to see so many of your troop in the mix too

Hate it when "the ducks and geese did not want us" like that.

We won’t lose all our birds but we will lose a good bunch! I should be out hunting right now but jury duty starts on Wednesday so need to prepare things at work for the snow and cold as I know my relief won’t do it.

Right now we are in line to get about 6 inches of snow. I’m sure that will change 300 times before the snow starts falling.

Wow! I would say we’ll welcome them with open arms but I hope they like salt water cause that’s about all the south has to offer currently.

A few retrieves from Wednesday. The music is for 5 Stand as I could picture him dancing to it

Didn't make it through the kill shot thing, but enjoyed Reaper's work. Just more of a dog guy than shooter.

Supposed to be a wet heavy snow. Hopefully we get some melting for the upland birds but this will be a good start for spring nesting!

A guy I have known since we were in Alaska came up from Kansas. It is his Chessie named Chisum.

In truth, I didn't watch enough to notice if it was bad shooting. Just much more interested in watching birds work and drop in than get shot or not. Perhaps that's how I've managed so many opportunities to practice on game, yet remain a mediocre shot.

Big fan of dogs in general and Chesapeakes in particular, so their part in the play is of more interest to me than the guns..

I told Vinny to shoot this Drake pintail but she muttered something about her gun getting caught up in her raffia grass or some kind of lame excuse. So I had to take care of business
