I shot it right by some people we go to Mass with. They have several hundred sheep and the coyotes have been given them problems. You can tell her belly is pretty full. She went about 3 feet and dropped dead. Hoping to get out again this afternoon.

Reaper and Vinny. It was Reaper‘s first hunt for coyotes. First stand we had one coming in after 30+ minutes. It kind of turned and left quickly. Couldn’t figure out why and then when I looked over at Vinny there was a truck driving slow down one of my well roads. Turned out to be the rancher. Guessing he would’ve really wanted that coyote killed. Can’t wait to tell him ha ha

Vinny and I got out this afternoon. To say it was a little crazy would be an understatement! We saw a minimum of six coyotes on the first stand and maybe even up to 8. No shots fired. I don’t even know where to begin to try to explain it. Vinny got a text on that stand asking if she could come in to work at four so I told her it was up to her. I told her we could probably get at least two more stands in. So she told them yes she could come in the work.

Second stand had one pop out of the sunflowers. I could see it was mangy. I think we were about A quarter-mile away from the sunflowers. We weren’t by a busy road but of course a few different vehicles went by so it went back into the sunflowers. Another one had come out closer to Vinny. All of a sudden it started running in. I got it to stop at about 200 yards. I told her aim where she wanted to hit it. She jerked the trigger and shot over it. Much to my surprise it stopped again and I took it out. Vinny said she was about to pull the trigger but I shot it and I told her I wasn’t going to wait for her to miss again ha ha Ha

Believe it or not I was able to call the mangy one out of the sunflowers again but that was about as far as he was willing to go.

Third spot was a high expectation spot. Never saw one.

It was time to bring her home and she was doing everything in her power to try to get me to go pheasant hunting instead of going coyote hunting without her. Also she gets paid to clean the birds that I shoot so she wanted the opportunity to earn some more money. I decided to give it at least one more stand.

Fourth stand started calling at 3:58. A couple minutes into my calling routine I looked behind me and there was a coyote about 30 feet away sneaking off. If Vinny was with me it would’ve been a shotgun killed coyote! I was able to spin around but I decided to not take a hasty shot. Coyote ended up going to the north about 100 yards cut through the tree row and circled to the downwind. Got it to stop and a second or two later she was doing the death dance. Looked at my timer and it was 4:06. Since it was so early in the stand I kept on calling. Saw another one behind me on the next tree row which is about a quarter mile away but it would not come any closer.

Had plenty of time to do another stand but my back is in bad shape. I struggled to drag this one out and decided to go home. Came home to a nice duck Philly cheese steak sandwich. Been sitting on the heating pad. I will download the videos sooner than later.

Well last night, Vinny killed two birds with one stone. First shotgun coyote, and first night time coyote 45 yards with blackcloud BB.

She got lucky as the first shot. She shot right over that coyote and it just stood right there. I think she was in such shock that I had to yell at her to shoot again

The kid was on cloud nine!

Another big one from last night. Not sure how I got this guy as he was downwind and just stood there. He did run about 70 yards after the shot. From the blood on the outside of his fur, it looks like I had a good shot placement. Nice, heavy dog!
