Does this drought help curb the water hyacinths in the marsh over there, or do they lie dormant, and revive when they get enough moisture?
Last few times I hunted South of Venice, those things were choking out some of the creeks leading to open water spots that we liked to hunt.
Seems like the only way they get thinned out here in S.AL, is from the high water we usually get late winter. That flooding process pushes them out of the delta creeks, into the bay. Hate those damn things!

Our marsh is brackish, we don't have any water hyacinths. Our water is so salty most of the vegetation is dying in the marsh.

No hyacinths is a blessing, but hate the salt water is killing your food. We are expecting some rain over the next 3 days, and hoping that includes your area. Know a lot more is needed, but it's a start.
