They're still here, I just chose the wrong spot this morning...
I looked at them through my binoculars before I left, they were having a big time over in that big Bay...

Sounds like a plan for next time. Quite a few folks would give appendages currently for 6 gadwall though.

It's my understanding that they've not been "scouted" if you've not run a mud motor through 'em.

We made our way to quail country today, and hunted a few hours this afternoon...
Moe and I lost a wounded bird, it took us a while to find it after the shot and Moe was chasing it after it flushed and he usually catches them just fine, I didn't go try to help him very quickly I just thought he would catch it but he didn't and it end up getting away...Wish I would have pursued it a lot more aggressively and stayed with them...

Area you’re in is either neck deep in rattlers or that’s so rare I’d wager you won’t repeat it

I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't several Rattlers there, ton of small critter trails and holes... 58 years old and that's my first, so I doubt I repeat also... Sure is neat country out here, enjoy stumbling around in these parts... Jumped a nice mule deer buck at about 30 yards this morning, he seemed as surprise as I was...

In my mind if you’re able to enjoy the journey of finding the game, you’ve got it figured out. That’s what keeps me on public land and out of a lease most years. I enjoy seeing new parts of the country I haven’t seen before.

Moe and I quail hunted yesterday morning...
We ended up with 12 on this trip, that's our best to date... Last trip we had 10 and that was our best up until then, so we might be getting better?
We were running late so no attempt at a great staged photo, I tripled on this covey and have it on video and was going to show that, but you can't really see the third bird, and it's a spot burner...

Yes sir, I do enjoy the public land game... Most of the time when I return to some place that I've already been I usually see something that I haven't noticed before...

As I was on my way back to the ramp today, there was one running the bank "Grrr" I'm sure they were scouting for tomorrow...
That is a pet peeve of mine...

Looking like an Alabama strap!

What are your plans for the big freeze? Fire and a whiskey drink?
