Every year it is the same thing for me but for some reason I don't change. Decent camo/cover to start the season. People moving all over the place, ducks work well. Brush degrades during first split, ducks still work well. New brush after split, ducks work well. Brush degrades after Christmas, ducks don't work. I do nothing about the brush (or the people) and just scratch my head and watch the ducks land across the field or in another marsh pothole. NEXT YEAR IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT!

We have a very healthy patch of Johnson grass that grows on spoil bank between our field and river. I cut a load of it with my stihl brush cutter every week or 2 during season to refresh pit brush. It blends very well.

Rick, Landlocked might be something I would look into further. I think in my state, a legal 20' access must exist for it NOT to be landlocked. Entering by boat doesn't count, as one cannot have a way for the fire dept to get to the property. How it became landlocked may be of interest to me. Just trying to figure out the differences in my head. Maybe something on the property would require said easement? Off my brain goes.
All in a day's work.

Jeane Reese showed me her copy of the Louisiana law, as written, back when we had her farm that, I think, was the first you hunted with me, but I've long forgotten its wording. Do know it's farther out of my hands than ever, now. Better I focus on doing the best I can where I am now.

That said, I was wasting time on youtube yesterday and ran into a SWLA teal hunt Duck Camp Dinners made with an Arkansas outfit that rented Doug's camp from Mary for teal two Septembers ago. Beyond strange to see the camp peopled by strange faces. Miss Doug and the good times I was blessed to share there.

Tried to warn you, was about unwatchable for me. Can't imagine from your shoes.

My dear Mema from Broussard had a small house there I grew up going to, the one my mom grew up in. I'm glad to still be using her handed down Les Creuset pot she cooked for us in so many times.

Watching that DCD episode made me feel like some strangers were in her kitchen.

That said, DCD is doing phenomenal work, and there is some tremendous content they assembled from the prior season, showing the public places many of them will never put eyes on.

Didn't recall who you'd said produced it, but figured it was the video you'd mentioned. Was nice to see they gave Mary some time, as well as Bill's calls getting a plug, but still...

Just finished finally transcribing this log to Word, and want to thank Olly and Duck Engr for their invaluable role in that record keeping.

It’s my pleasure to play a small part in helping facilitate. With 3 little ones running around I’m not as active posting as I once was but still look forward to reading yours and other’s reports.
