I just got my gun dipped. It looks great and I am happy with it.
I call this gun "The Viper"
Gun is chambered in .22-250, has accustock, accutrigger, hinged floorplate, and a Redfield Revolution 4x12x40 held on with Leupold rings and bases. I have also added an oversized bolt handle.
I expect to kill many a coyote wtih this gun.

I will be doing a full review on my blog. The vendor was SignPro of Brentwood, CA. They also did a nice job on a shotgun Jarbo owns.
I am very happy with it, turned out great.

VERY good for the money. They are made in the Leupold factory...
The dip was around $100, plus shipping. Looks great. They have lots of patterns. This one is custom per my specs.

If you find a 65-70 grain load, going under about 2700fps, you can more than likely flesh and sell the hides. Over that, and it's pretty well wrecked. 10 yotes would probably pay for a good chunk of the rifle, if not all of it.

what's a decent northern dog bringing right now? 5 years ago you couldn't pay for your bullet with em around here.

Probably could. But that ain't how I roll, and this gun was not built to worry about the pelts. LOL
I for see a 52 Grn Berger bullet slinging out of there about 3,850 per second. But thats not up to me; the rifle will tell you what it likes. I am a ways off from developing the pet load. I hope it ends up being a rocket pill.
I will be running my trap line in earnest next year to get some $$$ for play time.

From what I've read this year, unless it's a red or blonde phase, you'll be lucky to get 20-25, that's about what ours are going for around here, but ours are mainly the darker colors. The fur is good, but color brings the $$.

I thought you guys in the Midwest had all the blond phase coyotes? Seems like that's what all the pics I see are, anyway. The ones taken around here seem to be frosted hard, which really knocks you down.

Only got a few between all the guys at out deer camp in the last few years but a lot of them were blonds. My cousin shot one and got it stuffed. Pretty cool.

Sweet rifle Tom. Ever since I got my model 16, I'm sold. I reallllllyyyyy want one of those 111 long range hunters in 7mm mag but they don't offer that specialty model in a left hand.

Come out and shoot it some time.
Assateague we have all colors out here. The only one I have never seen is black and I know some one across the river who has seen them. I have seen some very red and very yellow looking dogs here. My Uncle shot one last week that was almost white.

We don't have that kind of variation around here. Granted, we don't have near the numbers you guys do, but all that I've personally seen trapped or shot have been a dingy brown, almost like a sun-faded German Shepherd. Not very attractive.

Our coyote numbers spiked 2 years ago. They did a number on our fawns but this past fall they were nearly nonexistent. Must have eaten themselves out.

Those are my favorite. The ones with dark tails and dark guard hairs. I have a pack of those here locally.
The redish ones are cool, they look like little jr wolfs.

I'd like to come on out before I get stuck in SW MO for 5 months.

Don't know how I missed this thread TK. Nice rig. Have ya had a chance to work up any loads yet?
I was gonna ask why you call it the viper until I clicked on the picture

Red I have not done a lot with it. I have had 7 rounds through the tube. Still needs a little more shoot and scrub.
When the weather gets better and I get to messing around with this gun you will hear more about it and see some pictures. I have high hopes for above average accuracy from it. My guess is that a 22 grn Berger Bullet will group pretty good. Time will tell.
I sent the stock off to N Californication (Brentwood) to have it dipped. They did a great job, it looks better in person than that marginal picture shows.
