Fishing

Well yesterday we had rain and winds that were steady close to 30 and gusts up to 50. I absolutely love fishing in those conditions. Didn’t catch anything in the first 10 or 15 casts with my mimic minnow which is usually my go to lure at this location, so I switched to a live leach. First cast I landed one. Vincenzia said if I got another one, then she would switch but about 10 seconds after saying that she hooked into one. Then I hooked into another one. Then she did and then it went cold. She moved down the shore about 30 yards and caught two right off the bat. So I went down there and caught one. She caught her fifth fish, which would’ve been her limit, but she let it go. She kept her sixth fish and then she did catch and release. Took me about another 20 minutes to finish out my limit. I wish some of the other kids would’ve come along, but then again I might still be cleaning fish if that was the case.

All nice 17 to maybe 20 inch plump walleye! Got a little over 8 pounds of fillets. Given them away to some of the elderly in the community today.

I am so proud of this young lady for so many reasons to include her out fishing me numerous times this year. Praying she finds a good Catholic man that also loves the outdoors as much as she does. Thankfully, she is staying strong holding out waiting for that right guy.

Send her to school in Cajun (virtually, if not, all Catholic) country with pics of your waterfowling, and she'll have a mess and a half of them to choose from. All anxious to live near their new in-laws.

That is a picture to be proud of with your story. Hope she is found by a good man that treats her right. Maybe she can teach him to be a better fisherman.

Thank you! Judging just by a lot of the boys that fish in our area she definitely will be giving lessons! Now if I could only get her to practice her duck and goose calling
