Can you post a pic of it on your lanyard? How does it hang with your other calls?

Blue wings are very responsive to a teal call, if used properly.

I have called Green wings but haven't tried to call Blue wings. Never have needed to.

Count me in. Teal are nowhere near as call responsive as mallards (nothing is), but a call sometimes breaks them over, even after they've pushed off the whirligig. Sometimes not.

BINGO!
Imo teal are just curious little bastards. They seem to respond to a teal call, well maybe, nope, yeah, nawwww. There they go. We shoulda shot them.

x2. Just give it quick short bursts of air and you'll get that teal sound.

During the regular season, when I already clank when I walk, I do kack for teal with a mallard call and get what's apparently close enough for many. Which, of course, a bugle playing the Star Spangled Banner might also be - "...for many".

But in September when there's need for nothing more than a single call and dog whistle on the lanyard, I like that call as spot on as possible. My current favorite is an over-bored MVP with a teal tuned/trimmed reed. Sort of a magnum teal call.

(Haydel's newer "Big Blue," not their old squeak toy, is the best of the over the counter teal calls I've tried. And if nono is serious about selling calls of any sort, he'll put sound files of them on his site. A call salesman without sound files is crippled.)

We smoke the teal out here with a mixture of the teal call and whistle. It works like a charm. If you don't believe me ask Boot. We have mastered the secret art of teal calling. ;)

With or without a whirligig? Spinners being the true masters of most teal calling.

I don't use robo ducks anymore. My guess would be 80% of the green wings we shoot at our blind are decoying.

Y'all need to video tape the show for us whackers who only really turn the trick with a call now and then. No trollin', I'd genuinely like to see what you're doing differently.

Spinner or no, the great majority of our teal are decoying, too. But no way could I claim my calling made much difference with most of them. Not at all like mallards in that regard.

They're california birds. Just guessing but all it takes em is a couple blows on a skin flute.
