You know come to think of it me and olly were pretty sure we saw a flock of gadwall fly down the middle of a lake we were hunting around Christmas last year. Couldn't confirm it though bc they were so far away. Not all that common here but for some reason way more common over in Alabama.

I think the unusually cold fall made things alittle wired. We were iced over by mid November. Almost 1 month early. And the number of ducks this spring was crazy. Everywhere just north of us had ice into late April. They were all piled up around here waiting for the ice to move out.

Yeah it was super cold down here (by our standards) early on too.
It was in the teens two days before thanksgiving... Usually in the 50s for highs around then. Even woke up to snow and ice on thanksgiving morning.
It got worse toward the end of the season in January. Two days before season ended we were hunting in 12-14 degrees with 30 mph winds. Even had a few days where the low was 4 and the high was 7 degrees. That's absolutely atrocious for a Georgia winter.
