I must be the only boat owner on the planet without a trolling motor. I want one bad.

Looks like those pups had fun.

Who cuts you the check for them? If it was like that over here I'd always be trying to kill them. If just to pay for the gas that day.

I've been looking at them lately. Them things aren't cheap at all, and I don't even want a fancy one. Just a super basic foot control would be nice.

I'm sure you looked there already but I got mine from Walmart. Best price I could find around here and I've used the shit out of it for almost 10 years now.

How much does the price rise as the thrust pounds rise?

I'll be in the market for a transom mount soon, but 45# probably won't be enough for this hippo...

I would seriously check out Walmart a tiller steer transom mount should be relatively cheep.

Not cheaper than $85 with shipping...

But Walmart is where I'll probably go if ea doesn't have one for me.

45lb will move the boat in the pic,s pretty good 14 x36 . you also need to think about a batt. that all adds pounds .a 45lb with a composit shaft and a good deep cell batt your good to go. i have a peroge 12x30 with a short footcontrol that is a blast just don,t have long legs .have to run a small batt lb,s add up. best to take boat and add some pounds to it and you and see what you can hold up easy and pic a set up .

My concern is going against the current on the river. It's got a capacity of 500 lbs, so I'm not too worried about weight with just me and gear.

I'm sure a 45# will work, but one of the bigger trolling motors may save me quite a bit of time.
