The green flash often seen as the sun is setting on a calm ocean is often attributed to light filtered through the atmosphere but science as proved the occurrence is really God's fart.

Fact.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

Wrong. The other "fact" about proximity to a McDonald's is wrong as well.

There's a "fact" floating around with the same claim, only it's McDonald's instead of Wal-Mart. They are both wrong. I grew up 45 minutes from the closest one of either, and at least 10 towns in Northeast Nebraska can claim the same thing.

Aluminum used to be valuble than gold.

Going off of this the capstone of the Washington Monument is made from aluminum due to that reason.

It took Robert Louis Stevenson exactly three days to write the entire book "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". When his wife read it and told him it was just alright, he took the whole thing and burned it. Not minutes later, he realized he shouldn't have, and wrote the whole thing again in three more days.

Until WWII, wrist watches were considered to feminine for men to wear. GIs found it more convenient to wear a wrist watch than pulling out a pocket watch.
