Does that crepe myrtle have any use beyond the ornamental?

Switches, they make great switches for beating children. My parents used to beat me with switches from the crepe myrtle in front of my house.
I do love crepe myrtles though, probably my favorite ornamental plant.

Ahhh childhood memories. Reminds me of the time my mom broke the wooden spoon over my ass and I looked at her and laughed, the laughing stopped a few seconds later.

Ever had a belt slung at you buckle end first, hit you in the neck and wrap around and have the buckle hit you in the eye ? That happened to me when I was like 13 and got caught smoking cigarettes. my mom tried to whoop me and I ran away until she caught me with the buckle end of the belt. Sucked.

Can't that I did, but I'm laughing picturing it happen to you. Kinda a bart simpson image in my head.

That shit isn't funny. When younger, my mom told me to get a belt cause I was getting an ass beating. I thought I'd be cool and picked an elastic belt, she beat the shit out of me with the metal buckle. I no longer thought it was funny as she asked me if I was done being a smartass.
