Are you saying you can do the same? Or are you agreeing that I should sleep in my truck?

Shit, didn't think about that! Why don't you pick me up? I will sleep in the back of your truck, you can have the lawn. Humboldt is really nice in January.

Seriously though, is it faster to go to humbolt by way of I-5 through Redding? Map quest says to go through Grants Pass, over to Crescent City and down 101.

Red would probably know best but I would think 101 would be best.

Not sure, I know from Redding to Crescent City on map quest it shows about a 15 minute difference between going 299 over then up 101 vs I-5 to 199 over. I have gone both ways and it was more like an hour longer going up I-5. Not sure if that really helps you. 199 is a windy little road that goes through a few different towns, it is hard to keep your speed up.

My guess would be 101. But it's probably not significantly faster or shorter

It's definitely a prettier drive...once you get to crescent city

I believe, it just feels slower once you get into the curves. Mapquest said it was a few miles shorter and I think about a half hour faster.

Mapquest needs a "best gas mileage" option. I would be all over that shit.

The 101 is scenic, I will admit that. However, I once made the mistake of driving from Point Reyes to Tillamook, OR, via 1/101. After the first day, I didn't notice any scenery, it was horrible, and I just wanted it to stop. After day 2, I was pretty sure I was just going to throw up and go insane.

Come on now, when I'm on a road trip I'm like an old man - all about "making good time".

Jim, once you stop and pick me up, we are only 1 day and 6 hrs from Reds house. The dogs might be useless, Taz would be shriveled up like a prune!

And Half Shell would be laying there looking like a freshly dug posthole. We'd have to retrieve our own birds, I suppose. Maybe not such a good idea. Little whore.

What would you expect from a bitch with a beard running round with Taz who thinks he is Peter North.
