WTH, this kinda fell to the wayside. Are we waiting until later in the off season to work on something? Or, are we all just waiting to see who is still here when the next season rolls around? Sounds to me like Southern Oregon or Northern Cali are the best options, for the most members, at this point. Can I get a second to the motions?

Sounds good to me. Now we might want to start thinking about the best timing. We'll have to let Red and the Bootlip posse inform us on that part. I have no idea of their season timing etc.
How about it Red, wha'dayathink?

NorCal works for me. I think a west coast hunt would be great. I have already met Red and the Spoonie triplets, all great guys. I can offer up my cabin as base of operations if we shoot the valley. I can't get everyone out on our club at one time because of ground rules. With my cabin and a good size trailer we could probably make it work. Just a thought.

We still have goose into Mar. but, I don't have anyone around that is serious enough to throw much time and effort into it. When my son still lived here we hunting the last period goose every season. Some of the best hunting because, then, it was permit zone only and everyone hunted the valley. We had the river and farms next to it to our sells most days. It ain't that way anymore.
They also have some late geese down Tripods way, specs and snows but, I think it is mostly, if not all, private.

Roger. Private property only for snow/specks. They say the hunt is meant to help the farmers out.

I've been talking to my guide buddy about our west coast hunt. He has a 9 man goose pit and an 8 man duck blind and depending on conditions does very well. If this is something you guys would be interested in I'm sure he would cut us a deal.

I would need to know as soon as possible so I can set it up with him. I would say late December thru January would be the best time.

January is more likely to work for me. Late December, I'll probably be in WY for Christmas timeframe, maybe Kansas too.

Ill let you guys iron out a time frame. A free lance public land hunt in north eastern California on public land in October might also be a good option.

January would be fun because by then our birds are usually all gone. This season I don't think I even shot at a duck after about the second week of December due to hard water issues.

In October we're knee deep in birds and you guys are bitchin about nothing in the sky anyways. Seems like when we slow down, you guys pick up.

Still rather early for planning this, I guess, but when would we need to let your buddy know by Boot. If we shot the valley.

Hey Red, you got this started. What do you want to do?

I'm in no rush to make any plans. Don't need to do a guide thing to have fun either.

I'm game for whatever y'all want. I have no problem offering to host a hunt on the coast. I have private places to hunt. But January the last few years here has been very slow. I do most of my hunting then from the scull boat unless we get weather. Oct-early Dec is usually our hotter time of the year.

However I do have a trailer I can pull over. It can sleep a few.

Otherwise I'm up for anything.

Well the sooner the better and I'm up for anything you guys want to do. My buddy's web site is www.valleyguideservice.com/
So you can check out his property's. this is really the only option I have for such a big group around here. I think meeting up around 3 legs area and hunting together at a refuge up there early in the seasons is a good option too for such a large group.
