If that dirty West side bitch of a decoy so much as flaps it wings like its going to cross east of the red line I'm gonna shoot it down.

I am in, but will probably end up hutning with it when Jarbo has it.

Wouldnt it make a great photo perched on top of Big Orange?

I'm in. I can take it anywhere from early/mid-October through the end of the December, save for about a week at the end of October when I'm in NoDak. I'd probably prefer last week in November or first week in December, could probably arrange it for me to bring it on the NCH.

We should try to get them at the same time and plan a hunt together since we are only a few hours apart.

Sent from my phone.

If you wait for that, then it won't be until August. The feds framework dates and season options for Pacific flyway are not scheduled to happen until July 26, 2013, in Reno Nevada. From that point, each state will set there season dates.
I will say, the indications are the seasons will be identical to last years with no season changed(in Pacflyway). I don't follow the Central Flyway, so I have no idea. Generally, you can glean the info you need from your flyway meeting agendas.
Here is what I will guess for the available timeframe from the projected Pac Flyway framework Sept 21, 2013 through Jan. 25, 2014. Those will be the available dates for states to run their 107 days for ducks. In Oregon, we will likely start our East zone on Oct. 5, 2013 and our west will start on Oct. 12, 2013. California and Washington will be relatively close, if not exactly same as Oregon, for ducks. Usually Idaho, Montana and Wy are opening dates on the first or second week available in timeframe(for Pac Flyway portion of those states). I don't follow the other Pac Flyway states because I don't ever hunt them.
As for geese, it is a smorgasbog that starts from Sept 1 and runs to the end of Mar. That is not to say that all Pac flyway states have goose time available in thise timeframes.

The only three bif things on the USFWS hit list this year I saw were:
1. Change possession limits to 3 days.
2. End possession limits at Domicile. (end rediculous law that actually requires you to gift your birds to family members etc) Basically once you are home the possession limit does not apply. This permits you to legally have a freezer full of legal birds.
3. Allow gunning(discharge of firearms) to dispatch crippled birds while boat is under power. Current federal law does not allow this.
The above 3 issues are points they are working on and does not necessarily mean they will pass or be a changed this season.

Thanks! I hope everyone that gets to hunt it enjoys having it in their rig. After everyone has hunted it I am planning on raffling it off plus I'll make the winner a decoy of their choice to go along with that decoy. All of the proceeds will be donated to charity. :-D

I have updated the first post with dates now. If you're on the list or would like to join in for the West Coast Travler pick a date and your name will be added to the list. Redbeard will be taking over adminstation for this travler from here on out, any questions about it can be directed to him.

The list is not full yet! If you want to get in on this travler now is the time to do so!

Won't hear any complaints from me, I'm the tard that decided to start the shenanigans of using a goofy decoy for the traveller by picking the surf scoter.

Hell, anybody can shoot birds over mallard decoys.
