Out of all that, my question was going to be why is there bamboo growing in the swamp. Guess I know now. There has to be a market for that with everything that they make out of bamboo now. At the least, you could go feed it to the panda at the zoo

Those dumbasses at the National Zoo, who can't tell the difference between a Green Wing drake and a wood duck hen, probably think pandas eat eucalyptus leaves.

Are we sure you just haven't been shooting pintails all along, but you were thinking they were cormorants so keeping quite about it?

Hey, just because my great great grandparents came to this country from Europe, doesn't mean they are the ones that turned it down the drain.

It's all over the south, that and cud-zoo.

Yeah bamboo is all over by rivers and streams in MO. But its not quite the same bamboo you think of seeing. Its a lot smaller (at least around here)

Indian tinkertoys isn't bamboo. I have no idea the real name of the reed type plants.

Just wait until they are wise of the fact that is also a great material for making bomb devices. I bet your fellow Marymorons will love that!

Marymorons- I like that! Usually we save that for the Baltimorons, but it certainly applies to most across the Bay!

Experiment Part 1

Postby assateague » Wed Jul 11, 2012 10:57 pm

Finally got the formula right. 60 parts potassium nitrate, 40 parts sugar, 10 parts sulfur. The bamboo I lit tonight burned like a VERY smoky road flare for almost 4 minutes. Groundhogs in trouble tomorrow night.

What are you cooking, and why when putting that all together?

I know nothing about working with chemicals and the sort to make stuff like that.

I don't know much either. That's why I've had to do it 4 times to get it just right! Making smoke bombs/flares for groundhog holes. Burn up the oxygen, and replace it with a mildly toxic smoke. Works like a charm.

Didn't I see a picture of you out there with your turkey fryer stove though? I was wondering what you do with the stove in making this stuff.

Headed out to kill groundhogs. Taking the tractor, to use the roof as a bell tower, the .32 mag, and a milk crate of smoke bombs. And a Rockstar.

The final prototype. Basically the finished product.

You're varmints. You're one of the lowest members of the food chain and you'll probably be replaced by the rat. Well, I have been pushed. It's about time somebody teaches these varmints a little lesson about morality and about what it's like to be a decent, upstanding member of a society!
