My deer woods are private. Two separate woods. One 100 acres and the other is 80.
Big deer but huge problems.
The neighbors all poach year round. That and the meth producers.

During season it gets invaded by Chicago ppl who run the deer off our land onto their by chasing em with four wheelers. Someday I'll organize and end that shit but really too busy chasing ducks.

I hear that's pretty common down in Southern IL. I've even heard that people train dogs to run other peoples land so they don't risk getting caught.

It's pretty common everyfuckingwhere in IL. The best deer spot in the county (huge deer everywhere, and that's saying a lot around here) is an ol farm with a huge house, barn, pond, and a stream running through it with about 60 acres of timber behind a farm field. It sits vacant because some rich mother fucker from chitcago hunts it one weekend a year (gun season) and doesn't want anyone else hunting it.

I read a story on the Fuge about somebody's dog getting stuck with an arrow while chasing deer. Wonder if it was a deal like you were talking about? If it was the owner had nothing to be bitching about cause Ida probably shot the damn thing too.

Y'all love your dog's, but won't hesitate to shoot one chasing a deer? What if it's just a dog, doing what dogs do?

In the face.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

May be different for y'all's area but back home dogs get shot all the time, including some of mine, For harassing cows chickens whatever. Not saying I've done it but if you put a lot of time and money into something you would think long and hard when something jeopardizes that.

I couldn't shoot a cat much less a dog. Just saying that in Illinois that it's illegal to chase deer with dogs. A GW will shoot the dog on sight and asks other hunters to do the same.
My dog Buddy could not be stopped from chasing them.
Milo chased a deer once but gave up quick.
I fear losing a dog over that...
I don't shoot anything I'm not going to eat. Simple enough?
