Ducks and geese by the thousands in every field I drove past. Absolutely sickening because hunting was impossible while I was there. If I had the time I would make a trip out this year to do a few hunts, especially after all the birds I saw.

well if you find your self back out here hit me up, one of use could easily hook you up with a hunt. Just keep it on the down low what you saw out here we don't want to make any of those Arkansas boys jeliouse.

I will let ya know if I ever get back up there. Might be another year or two, but it could happen.

You can go to AFCOMAC at every rank after SrA. I'm waiting on a class right now to go as a tech

I went to AFCOMAC my first time in January as a SSgt. working control and had a blast. I would love to go back as a tech and be a pad dad, but I am told its very hard to get those slots, and trying to get there during a season would probably be like fighting hell with a squirt gun, but its worth a try. How long you been AMMO?

10 years, been to AFCOMAC twice. Once Active duty and once Guard. In a typical class, you have 10 Techs, 4 Masters, and 4 SM-CM with your occaisional butter bars and 1sts. It's pretty hard to get a Guard slot as it is. They hold a full guard class in July every year. It is vastly different than the active duty classes, in a much better way

Was Neal still the commander?

Also I don't know if you had Trull as an instructor, but we were at our first duty station together, Camp Darby. He's had a pretty rough career as far as promotions go haha.

Ah, the good ol Eelpout festival in Walker, MN. Throw a little ketchup on them but not too much because that stuff is spicy. They go great with a Grainbelt (or a Summit if you're feeling exotic). But only after you have a few cases can you tolerate watching Fargo. Lutefisk is about the best thing to get the taste of the vomit out of your mouth from watching that movie, which you spewed all over your davenport.

By the way, if you catch an eelpout and grab around it's head and it's not all fat and chunky, they'll wrap around your arm. At which point you'll notice that they have skin, not scales, which makes it worse.

I do enjoy lefse though. Some butter, cinnamon and sugar... mmmmmm.

Pickled fish. I think it's herring, not sure. Soaked in lye first. Disgusting. It's damn near like mackerel jelly.

Honestly, I've never had it. Id like to try it just to try it, but I'm not 100% sure what exactly it is.

I did see this at the store today however, just to prove how spicy we think ketchup is:

What turned you back to the cajun cookin? Pout, spicy ketchup, or lutefisk?

You keep saying "spicy ketchup." Are you talking about a spicy ketchup or regular ketchup that to you personally, is spicy?

Minnesotans generally eat bland, heavy food. Some is excellent- like Tater Tot Hot Dish. Some is horrible- like lutefisk. But they never eat spicy anything. Some guys I worked with did honestly find ketchup spicy, but they were from up around Leech Lake and Ely, so they were just odd, anyway.

So do they call it spicy ketchup to let everyone know they think it's spicy, or is there an actual spicy ketchup?

I hate ketchup, I hate tomatoes, but I love vinegar. Ketchup tastes more like vinegar to me than anything, but there is still something about it that tastes like crap to me.

I'm joking about the spicy ketchup stuff. The stereotype is that minnesotans find ketchup too spicy to handle. The chips that I honestly did see in the store and snagged a picture of I'm sure are some tobasco/ketchup flavor or some weird thing like that. I didn't want to try them to let you know what is going on with it because it sounds nasty to me.
