I used to get for free all the barrels I wanted. They held peanut oil. The oil was actually in a plastic liner, like a big garbage bag, so when you pulled the liner out they were clean. We used them for feeders because the varmints would chew through the plastic barrels. I just left a message for my contact to see if I could get some.

Looks so good.

Thats what these are, they have fruit puree inside double bags, pull the bags out and bam, clean bbl. I can get the plastic ones too, those work good for spearing carp, rain barrels, or just garage/barn trash cans.

Speaking of rain barrels, I need to pick up a couple more. Hurricane season will soon be upon us, and I've only got 160 gallons right now. My family will go through that in 3 days of a power outage flushing the damn toilet.

You should back tax the state by the ounce for saving the water from polluting the ocean.

That is an excellent idea. At the very least, I would get enjoyment from sending them a bill, for someone to briefly ponder over before throwing in the trash.

They would tax you for the time they spent looking at and disposing of the bill you sent them.

That kind of common sense couldn't go over well with them.

You should get a tax credit at the very least.

The biggest time saver for me would've been having access to a step bit. Not having one easily added an hour and much aggravation.

I was talking about a step bit for the 1" holes at the bottom. And I'm sure the $7 I spent on flat black paint was cheaper for the outside.

Ohhh. Would a metal bit not do the job?

It would if you can find a 1" metal bit. I've never seen one, and I suspect if I did, it'd be more expensive than the step bit. I used a jigsaw, and threaded the nipples in, then sealed the gap with JB Weld (which added about $6 to the cost). I have a couple electrician buddies I could have borrowed one from, but that would have meant waiting through the weekend, and I wanted it done now.

Gotcha. I'll have to study the hardware a little more, I'm not familiar with most of it.

The nipples (3/4 right). Is there not a conduit nut or something that could go on the inside (of the barrel) and outside to keep it straight? I want to trick it out a little and add the black pipe on each that come straight up the drum with valves on top.

I've never seen those pipes anywhere, how do you get the length you want and have it threaded on each end?

They have it at HD, or you can buy a piece, and they'll cut it to length and thread it right there. And yes, you could put a conduit nut on the inside- I think. I'm pretty sure that the black pipe thread is the same as conduit. And yes, the nipples are 3/4", but the hole will need to be about 15/16 to get it to thread in. Really, you only need one coming up. I keep the caps off of the other two for only about 2 minutes, if that. It heats up QUICK when you put the fire basket in, and I've only needed to control the air from the one valve. The other two nipples just stay capped the whole time.

I think this is where something clever about tapatalk should go.

Try this FF.
Put coals in bottom. Make circle with no coals in center
Put the grill on top of the coals way down inside. Do beercan chicken. Takes 60-90 minutes. The skin will burn. Its ok.
Tasty-juicy. That brinkmann is perfect for doing this. I used to have the same smoker.
