I suppose technically it is. But there's not really any difference between high and regular brass, all other things being equal.

in all honesty, not really.

how you figure that? I was talkin #7 shot for teal in low brass steel and shoot big ducks with 3inch 3s

I use #6 2 3/4 in a 28gauge for a good bit of my hunting. Mainly woodies and greys but plenty of mallards have met death from it w/ no problems.

To me, #2 is fine for geese, but I wouldn't want to push it with 3s. So I stick with #2, but that's really just a personal preference.

I struggle with low brass lead on pheasants. Lots of feathers, but that's about it. Haven't shot low steel.

I found 7s stoned incoming and broadside teal and big ducks at the ranges we generally shoot them (though not so hot on outgoing shots), but way too much of it stayed in the meat, even with teal. I now shoot more 5s than anything else and still hit a pot roasted pellet more often than I'd like.

I shoot the Winchester xpert upland steel shot for ducks in #7s because they have plenty of power for them and cost only 60 dollars a case

I'm shooting 20ga Kent Upland Steel 5s, which is just under $100 with tax and the camp's discount, so you've got me beat by a mile on cost. But the pretty yellow bullets are worth it.

My gramps swears by small bb's for big geese. Says they cut through the feathers and down better. Told me they used 7 1/2 for honkers in the lead days.
