Bought 2 life jackets, a ski rope, and the equalizing loop for behind the boat today. Cabelas had life jackets on sale, and all towable stuff 20% off.

What are you looking for in a goose call. Will you be hunting over water, fields or both?

Then you want something that isn't too loud. The sound of a goose call carries like crazy over water. For the most part the shorter the call, the louder it is. The only only problem with the longer calls is most are typically deeper toned. Me personally, I reach for a higher pitched call most of the time. My favorite out of all I've ran is by far a Shore Thing, it can and will do it all. Biggest thing is learn how to tune a call and hand control, then you can just about get any sound you want out of any call.

FYI brass height has nothing to do with speed or payload of the shell. Not since paper shells anyway

I use low brass #6 HeavyShot for geese out of my ,410 for geese. You have to shoot them in the front half.

Don't get a GVCC. I had a PCS, and it was a very good call. But it sounded absolutely horrible on the water. Shrill, high-pitched, and not at all goosey. Just my personal opinion. As reb said, Shore Things are very, very nice for the conditions you'll be looking at. They're right down the road, too.

What you need to do is capture a wild baby goose... raise it, train it to retrieve and call on command.

That would be the ticket. I would teach it to alert on the presence of a game warden, too.

It's not a live decoy, it is a retriever. No need to alarm.

I wouldn't necessarily be concerned only because of the goose. I've been known to bend a law or two.

Agree with assa and Reb...goose hunting all got started on the eastern shore anyway.

IMHO, the 2 best goose calls ever made came are an Eastern Shoreman and Shore Thing. Both came from the eastern shore. While there are some really good ones out there that aren't none have more titles than those 2 calls.
