If you show me video proof of you killing ducks with a whistle I'll sell all my calls and buy a wingsetter.

Nobody is going to buy a wingsetter because you recommend them. Face facts and buy yourself a real whistle. Reds getting one.

Its a real whistle..... It makes whistle noises.

So do the party whistles at the dollar store but nobody is going to use one of them.

Wing Setter produce the same sound if not better then any other whistle on the market. Not my fault you have a hard on for spending money frivolously.

Half the guys around here use metal yard duty whistles to kill teal and pintails and have been doing so for 60 years! It's a damn whistle! You can't reinvent the wheel. However you can make it pretty and charge more for it!:D

Does he have to KILL ducks with the whistle, or use it to call ducks then kill them?

I have an old brass army surplus whistle that makes a decent pintail sound.

Wise decision.

I hope so. Most speck calls sound a little low or flat to me, I really wanted a high pitched break. Obviously since I didn't pop for the acrylic the tone won't be the same but I hope its close since they claim to use the same guts.

I also liked the fact that ther logo was a speck. Website focused on specks. They didn't even list a honker call, figured might as well go with the guys who's world revolves around specks.

They don't do honker calls, just started doing duck calls this year. Bill and James are both great guys, if you ever need anything they'll be more than happy to help. They do use the same guts in calls. Of all the speck calls I've tried, Riceland, Redbone and JB are the only ones that can do it all from a growly low end to a blood curdling yodel. Riceland is my favorite.

They've both guided for us, and know their business. Clean air (like you're whistling) should get it plenty high. (Air presented like you're coughing lowers the tone and adds scratch.) But the current trend is down and dirty, so it may be tuned a little low for your taste. If that's the case, you can shorten the amount of exposed reed yourself, or send it to the shop with a about what you're after and your phone number, so they can run the retuned version for you.
