I found this on the CA website but can't find it in the printed version of the regs. Thought it was odd the way they do it.

One-Day Nonresident Hunting License $21.34 IMPORTANT! This license is only available for nonresidents taking resident and migratory game birds on Licensed Game Bird Clubs (Upland Game Bird Validation is also required) or Licensed Domesticated Migratory Game Bird Shooting Areas (Federal Duck Stamp and California Duck Validation are also required).
Two-Day Nonresident Hunting License $44.85 Allows a nonresident 16 years of age or older to take resident and migratory game birds, resident small game mammals, nongame mammals and furbearers for two consecutive days. Additional validations and tags may be required for certain species. IMPORTANT! This license is NOT valid for deer, bear, antelope, elk, bighorn sheep, bobcat, or pig.

Not sure about that. They said the license thing had to do with states that show hunter ed on license. They wanted a number as proof of hunter ed and he punched in the date on my card. The hard part was convincing him he could sell me the license. He ended up calling their fish and wildlife number.
I do remember it saying it was needed if you hadn't had Cali license before. You're probably in the clear if that is the case.

Portland has more ex Cali residents then anywhere on earth. The real problem there is most don't know anything outside of the city limits and have learned all they know about the outdoors from Disney. Unfortunately, between Portland Metro and Eugene, they have over half the voting population. They really have no clue.
