Going to a restaurant in the harbor tonight for dinner. Had a bison burger at a Irish pub in Mendocino for lunch.

AT...wander over to a store that has a butcher and ask him to cut you a 2" porterhouse. Better drink two or three gulps of moon before you look at the price. Will need it.

Nope. Although after buying that roast, I'm upping my estimate of "dollars per deer" to $300, from $250.

We bought half a cow that was $550 including paying the processor over $100.

Definitely a must. I love waterfowl hunting, but I grew up an upland guy and there is nothing like a rooster flush (except maybe a covey of quail!). I've always hunted over flushers, this year there are no excuses, I am shooting a bird behind Taz.

Churched it up today. Sous vide Duck breast on an onion roll, spicy Brown mustard, capers and melted havarti cheese. Bomb.
