I get cranky in the heat the way that Assa does in the cold. Just talking about it is starting to piss me off.

I do get a little cranky, but moreso, I get an uneasy feeling, like something absolutely terrible is about to happen. Maybe it's some sort of deep, dark phobia that it'll never warm up again

If it is cold enough to cause ice, it is bullshit. Ice fucks up my hunting. Luckily I get to experience both, at some point this summer we will be the hottest place in the country.

I get the same feeling, I get depressed in the winter too, the stretch from the end of January til it warms up in march is agonizing, the best weather is highs in the mid 70s dipping into the 50s at night. Lasts all of about two weeks here
I also know a guy that frequents the same bar as me who moved here from newyork who was born and raised up there, says the cold here is way worse even above freezing bc of the humidity. Just sayin, that comes straight from the mouth of a Yankee.

I agree about the 50's-70's...that's prefect, but that Yankee is an idiot.

Negative anything with super negative wind chills, is much worse than 30° Georgia cold.

I'd much rather it be 20 and snowing than 90 and hot as balls.

I don't know about that. Having lived and worked outside in Minnesota, I will take framing a house at 30 below in MN over framing a house at 10 degrees here any day, as far as comfort goes.

Probably because you were accustomed to the temperature throughout the year.

If the south truly gets cold, there is typically no warning, or adjustment period for your body.

Doesn't Maryland get a bit windy being on the coast as well?

Probably shouldn't have said comfortable, but I would prefer that type of cold over 100° heat any day.

While I don't have any scientific proof, it's got to. Working in Arizona, I wore khakis and long-sleeved button down shirts, with a cotton undershirt, and was comfortable when it was 115 degrees. Because there was no humidity. If low humidity makes hot feel a little less severe, it must also make cold feel a little less severe.

Humidity makes a big difference. When it is real humid and cold, you can feel the ice crystals on your face as it turns red. The cold and heat in western KS is way easier to handle than around home.

Humidity is the whole reason, I've been in negative temps in Colorado snow skiing and it felt better than 30s and 40s down here. Dry air. Same with summer, it's like living inside of a 95 degree wet sponge in summer in the south, hard to breathe and it doesn't get any better at night.

Ill add to what I just said, you can be inside of your house and have it 72 degrees and walk out in to the sauna like conditions to check the mail, and be soaking wet by the time you get back inside and that's not even an exaggeration. Makes your ass and back rain sweat. So disgusting.
