That is still over a box of shells per week for nearly 30 weeks in a row, week in and week out. For a hunter (not a guide), even a retired hunter, that is a lot. I know people do it.
Most years I hunt from around Sept 1 (early goose) until early March (spring snows). In my best year, I might have gone through a case with half that shot at snow geese. It's a pile of shells and just blows my mind. Also makes me very jealous.
Although I shoot noticeably less shells now that I lost my dog. Because it was my dog, I was shooting a disproportionate amount of the cripples.
I went through 3 1/2 cases last year and ended up with close to 400 birds. Between loaning shells out and cripples they go fast.
