When we figured out our truck has "special order" tires that are high dollar we started looking for ppl selling their old ones. Turns out that nobody likes the stock tires for dodge trucks like we have. Its common for people to upgrade new trucks.
I have a tall stack of tires. Got em all for less than $25 each.
They're round and they're rubber and they roll.
Cheap.

and are total shit. I have pictures of my dad's stock tires with a flat from a pinecone. The tires that come on the trucks have to be for demo only, they are absolutely terrible.

Betty, if you want good tires, go look at hankook dynapro atms, absolutely awesome tire, especially in snow after you get them siped. total cost for mine with alignment, tire insurance and remounting one of the old tires for a spare was $840.

BF Goodrich all terrain TA is the next tires I'm buying.
They were not available in my size until recently.
I'm using my $25 ones for now.

Don't get the all terrains. They wear out quickly and have no warranty. Get the wranglers they come with a mileage warranty. My dad wore out a set of ATs in less than 20K.

Then your dad needed an alignment bad. No name brand tire should wear out that quick. Alignment contribute to tire wear more than anything.

I had hankook dynapro mud grips on my old tahoe. They might have lasted 20,000 miles.

that's because they were mud grips. I too had those, they were on it when I bought the truck. same thing, didn't last long. I have 10,000 on the ATMs and they still look brand new.

I ruined a set of good year wranglers when I was younger and let a ball joint go to long. Learned that lesson the hard way.

Nitto terra grapplers were the worst off road tire I've ever had. They would get me stuck in wet grass.
Lasted forever though. Got 60k out of a set.
BFG at kos are the best of both worlds though. I've had two sets. One on my tahoe and a set that came on the f250 I had.
Last forever, grip like a mud tire. Good buy Olly. Lookin for a deal on a set of 265 70 17s for my truck too.

Everyone drives different. The Arkansas back roads I use are rough. The at los tires are perfect for that kind of thing.

Seems to be one of those things some people have nothing but good to say about and some have nothing but bad. Tires can be weird sometimes. I had a pair of extreme no name's made by some 3rd world company in a 4th world country and they lasted over 30k miles with what looked like another 30k to go. I've had really expensive Wrangler M/T the old good ones that didn't last a year.

Who the hell knows, I'll just try and make sure my alignment is always good and I rotate them every oil change and we'll see how far they get me.

I've always driven light trucks. I suspect the guys with 3/4 tons are the ones who do the most complaining about tires. I had one and yeah...it ate tires, ball joints, tie rods, and it ain't cheap. My duelly, fuck they want $500 to look at it.

I did once I realized it was fucking up my tires but I was only 19 or 20 at the time I hadn't learned that that kind of shit really does matter. They aren't to hard, have to use a special ball joint service press or fight with it. The kit can be rented at any auto parts store or bought for cheap at harbor freight.

My ranger needs ball joints now and I just ordered them from rock auto. I'm going to try and squeeze out a free alignment once I install them from the tire place

For winter/snow tires, Cooper M/S are a great tire for the price. Currently im running Dick Cepek Radial FC II, they are wearing like iron, and have been great in the snow, dirt, mud, rain. However, they are not cheap

I think it might be the truck. My f250 was always gettin stuck. My z71 tahoe never got stuck no matter what tires. Hell I have a z71 now with onion slicks and you wouldn't believe some of the ditches it climbed out of back during duck season... Of corse you're from up north and you're probably gonna say our mud isn't as slick down south.

I had a ball joint go last year, and caught it just a bit too late. I rode those tires until the cord starting showing through. I'm actually very impressed by the wear that the destination A/Ts took with a bad ball joint.

I think it might be the truck. My f250 was always gettin stuck. My z71 tahoe never got stuck no matter what tires. Hell I have a z71 now with onion slicks and you wouldn't believe some of the ditches it climbed out of back during duck season... Of corse you're from up north and you're probably gonna say our mud isn't as slick down south.
