My wife graduated with a computational physics degree. She had a good job for a while, but gave it up to raise the baby.

I have a mechanical physics degree, but make way more doing what I do now, which requires no degree, than I ever would with the degree.

But an applicable science is different than an experimental science degree. Engineering for example, there are more jobs than degrees

You do have to be willing to move to take advantage of them, but with a good education and an open mind you can find a job. You may make more at your job, but an education brings security.

Education doesn't bring security to my job. You have to have a MMD license for mine, and the rating of that license determines where and what size vessel you can work on.

On the job training is a type of education

you had enough hunting/fishing adventure last year to be able to take a few years off without feeling to ruff about it doc, I did the same thing in my early twenties, build a good "life foundation" there'll be plenty more time for hunting
